Founder's Message
Welcome!
My name is Katrina Gaidry, Founder of REAL, Class of '24 in Marketing at Mays Business School.
At Texas A&M, I noticed we had a need for a real estate club, as well as financial literacy. Most students don’t know how a home loan works, or that buying a home is really a property investment that only appreciates in value. These are REAL LIFE topics that will aid in success in the future!
To address this need, I created Real Estate Aggies In Leadership: A real estate and personal finance club that promotes an inclusive environment of students wanting to learn more about:
- Managing & growing their finances post graduation
- Home loan process
- Career avenues in the real estate industry
I created flyers for our 2022 Launch, set up a table in Mays Business school, and spread the word on how REAL is going to open many doors at Texas A&M. After interest surveys, leadership applications, interviewing, and hard work, we got our team of driven, capable, like minded students.
Every year, we bring together diverse individuals who share common interests, and educate our peers in the matters of personal finance and real estate, as well as provide new professional and social opportunities.
The creation of REAL would not have been as successful without our Executive Team, or our Advisor Nick Kilmer: Financial Planning Lecturer & Founder of the Money Education Center at Texas A&M.
Leadership is making the best out of every situation. Leadership is about dreaming big, and executing ideas. Leadership is about not giving up, and having hope for the future.
